001 - [Video] - The Barge =/= Panem

[Clove flicks on the journal, playing with it, testing it's capabilities. It's... not exactly like anything she's seen before, but it's not too hard to work out, and maybe, if she has advanced tech...]

Cato? Are you there? Did we win? Can- [There's a pause. She's still groggy and having trouble remembering everything clearly, so it's taking her a while to register that the voices coming through on the journals have a lot of different accents, and don't seem to be gossiping about the apparent end of the Hunger Games. How to respond? Confusion and frustration, obviously.]

Hey, I'm asking a question! Somebody answer me. Who were the victors? The Games, who won? [She frowns suddenly and then throws the journal down onto a table. You can JUST see her in the edge of the screen, checking her body for injuries. When she doesn't find any, she snatches up the journal again.] The tracker jacker stings are gone... Where am I?

Hey, Cato! Are we in the Capitol?

Redeem- [She looks like she can't decide whether to scream or cry. Instead she just answers the question in a flat voice.] I'm seventeen. I'm seventeen and it was my Games to win. If I'm dead- If-

[And now she screams. She drops her journal with a strangled, painful, angry sound that starts low and builds up. She's tearing her room apart.]

Clove. Clove.

[Her tone is sharp, but not panicked.]

Can you hear me? You can go back. Clove, stop what you're doing. You can go back.

[Clove's scream dies off and on the repetition of Sarah's statement, she stops destroying the room. There's a moment's pause and then she snatches the journal from the floor.]

What do you mean? How?

[Wow. Live one.]

As I said, the Barge is a second chance for you. Once you go through the program and are deemed rehabilitated, you can make the choice to go home.

You don't need to be afraid.

I'm not afraid. [WELL, there was a lot of derision in that statement.] So I can go back and be alive again?

Poor word choice on my part. 'Agitated' might be better.

Once you rehabilitate, if you choose to go back, then yes. You can go back and be alive.

What do I have to do? How does it work?

You'll be assigned a warden to work with you - hopefully soon. They'll be provided with your information and explain to you what needs to be done.

The assignments happen about once every two weeks, so you shouldn't have to wait too long.

[There's a long pause. Clove seems calm enough now; she's planning. c:]

What is this place?

[Better planning than tearing up the joint.]

This is the Barge. It's a ship capable of traveling through time and space. There are, at any given time, around one hundred passengers aboard - both inmates, such as yourself, and wardens.
